My 5 Favorite Productivity Tools

I love optimizing my personal operating system.

And because I love experimenting with everything and anything, I have tested 100+ different solutions to help me focus better on work. But I have only a few I use over and over again. I can’t think of how to replace them, and I recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Here are my favourite tools to stay productive and sane at the same time:

  1. Todoist: A cross-platform todo list app that packs a mean punch once you learn to use the advanced features. It understands dates, priorities, tags, categories — everything from the item description or with simple shortcodes. Pro tip: I even capture “outbound” ideas with it, in a dedicated category for posting on social media.
  2. Google slides: From social media graphs to presentations to course materials, all collaborative and with awesome but little-known add-ons that make presenting fun again. Can’t think of going back to anything else.
  3. Obsidian: A markup-based note-taking tool, really useful for building a “second brain” — linking notes to each other and tagging. Breathtakingly simple but powerful once you learn to use extensions and shortcuts.
  4. Notion: This one comes with a learning curve for sure. But it’s worth it. I use Notion to maintain a personal dashboard, where I dump just about everything. Daily routines, tracking weight, tracking daily focus tasks, keeping a database of important emails from good email lists (more on this strategy later)… The real all-in-one solution!
  5. Tweet Hunter: Is this even a productivity tool? I don’t know — but given how tweeting can be considered a part of one’s day, for me it is! Makes it easy to schedule posts, respond to tweets, and just scout for inspiration!

If you end up using any of these tools, let me know what you think!
